CraneBolts builds tethered safety bolts to your specification. Every run is made to order — thread size, length, grade, and finish matched to the OEM hardware already on your equipment. Nothing sits on a shelf, and nothing gets substituted.
What a tethered fastener does
A conventional bolt that backs out under vibration leaves the joint and falls. Our patent-pending tethered retention system anchors an engineered tether to the structure, so a backed-out fastener stays captive at height instead of entering free fall. Tether retention is rated to the mass of the fastener assembly it secures. The bolt still does its job as a bolt — the tether is the second line of defense when the joint loosens.
This is one control in a broader dropped object prevention program. It addresses the failure mode that housekeeping and tool tethers do not: the fastener itself.
Built to your specification
As a custom fastener manufacturer, we start from the print or the sample part, not from a catalog page. If your equipment uses a specific size and finish, that is what gets produced.
Thread and length
Matched to the existing OEM hardware on the asset. No adapters, no shimming, no redesign of the joint.
Grade and finish
Specified per application and environment — marine, washdown, high-temperature or corrosive service — and matched to what the equipment already calls for.
Tether configuration
Rated to the mass of the fastener assembly it secures, and anchored to the surrounding structure.
Run size
Minimum order quantities apply per size and finish. Lead time is quoted with the order based on run size and specification.

Installation
Installs with standard tools and standard torque procedures. There is no exotic procedure to train crews on and no special tooling to buy. The same part works on a new build or a retrofit, so you can convert an asset during a scheduled outage rather than waiting for replacement equipment.
Designed and made in the USA
CraneBolts is based in Manvel, Texas, in the greater Houston area. Design and manufacturing both happen in the USA. Working with a domestic custom bolt manufacturer means the engineer answering your specification question is in the same building as the people running the parts.
How to order
- Send us the specification — thread size, length, grade, finish, and the application. A photo of the existing hardware or a sample part works if you do not have a print.
- We confirm the tether configuration against the mass of the fastener assembly and the anchor point on the structure.
- You receive a quote covering run size, minimum order quantity, and lead time for that specification.
- The order is placed through an authorized distributor. CraneBolts does not compete with its distributors for end-user business.
- Your made-to-order run is manufactured to the approved specification and shipped through that distributor.
